An E-JITENSHA is a VAE (Vélo à assistance électrique) and is therefore eligible for public subsidies in France and Europe.


You can contact your local council to find out more about funding possibilities.


Here are some links and information on subsidies in France: 


Île-de-France (Paris): 400€ purchase subsidy. Requires declaration of conformity, which you'll find at the bottom of this article.


Nantes : Refund of 25% of the purchase price (max. 300€).


Bordeaux: Refund of 25% of purchase price (max. 300€).


Bouches-du-Rhône: Refund of 25% of the purchase price (max. 400€).


Toulouse: Purchase bonus of €100 for households with net annual income below €28,800.


Toulon: Refund of 25% of the purchase price (max. 250€).


Marcq-en-Baroeul: 300€ purchase bonus.


Montpellier: 500€ purchase bonus.


Normandie: 250€ purchase bonus.


Nouvelle-Aquitaine: 100€ - Condition: only people whose family income is less than €2,200 - Send an e-mail to [email protected] 


Toulon Provence Métropole: 250€ purchase bonus.  


Cannes: 300€ purchase bonus.


Nice Métropole: 200€ purchase bonus.


Occitanie Region: 100€ purchase bonus. 


To qualify for state subsidies, you need: 


1) your JITENSHA invoice 


2) your motor's certificate of conformity (here for the Tokyo frame, here for the Paris frame)


3) your bicycle code 


The first two documents are sent to you in the order confirmation e-mail, and the bicycodes will be sent when the bikes are shipped.
