Where's the battery and how do I charge E-JITENSHA?Updated 10 months ago

The E-JITENSHA's battery is not removable, but integrated into the rear wheel hub, which is why the bike is so light. Simply unscrew the protective cap and charge the bike directly on the axle with the JITENSHA charger plugged into a standard mains socket (see picture below).

3h charge for a full charge and 2h to charge to 80%.

If you don't have an accessible outlet, we offer an external battery that can recharge your bike without having any electrical outlets nearby. Simply charge the battery at home, then charge the bike via the external battery.

The E-JITENSHA also features a back-pedal energy recovery system (KERS) that provides additional energy to extend battery life (max. 10-20% energy gain). It's a motor brake that also slows you down, allowing you to save on braking and anticipate braking maneuvers.

Note that this feature does not fully recharge the battery, and does not preclude recharging the bike with the charger.
